🏆 Every child will receive a participation trophy for their season from U6 – U13.

There are also some additional awards, for the U8-U13 groups, details of each award is below for reference.

🏆 Age Manger Award – 2 awards per age group from U8-U13. Chosen by age managers.

🏆 Encouragement Award – Given to 1 boy and 1 girl in the U8-U10 and U11-U13 groups, who tries their best, doesn’t give up and the club wants to encourage them to keep going. Nominations are taken from age managers, water safety and coaches.

🏆 Coaches Award – Given to 1 boy and 1 girl in the U8-U10 and U11-U13 groups, who has shown exceptional effort and attitude at training and carnivals. Chosen by the Surf Sports Director.

🏆 Competitor of the Year – This is based on overall competition points throughout the season and is presented after Youth State Titles later in March.

🏆 Rookie of the Year – The inaugural Chris Smith award is given to a nipper who is in their first season, in any group, who has shown progress, positive attitude and Kawana spirit. Nominations are taken from age managers, water safety and coaches.

🏆 Nipper Of the Year – This award is given to a nipper who shines Kawana spirit, helps others, has a positive attitude, has contributed to the overall nipper experience or has shown significance in nippers or surf lifesaving. Nominations are taken from age managers, water safety and coaches.

🏅U13 Medals – Given to our U13 nippers who have been a Kawana Nippers since U8’s or earlier.

👩‍✈️ 👨‍✈️ Nipper Captains – U13’s apply to be a Nipper Captain via application submission. The chosen two captains are determined by junior and senior committee interview, discussion and vote if required.
